Every Christmas we have grand plans — there are recipes we are going to try, gifts we are going to hand make & parties we are going to throw — but then life happens. Between the classroom & office parties, the gift shopping and big family meals to make, not everything we want to do happens. We often find ourselves thinking (as we are packing away the holiday decorations) “Next Christmas”.
But this year we had a life changing “Aha!” moment. Why can’t we do some of those things for Valentine’s Day?! After all, we LOVE Valentine’s Day! Usually this time of year is pretty calm. And. more often then not, we are stuck indoors with not much to do. And who says you can’t host a Valentine’s cookie exchange?! Oh the ideas!!
One of the parties that never got crossed of our holiday list was a cookie decorating party. We recently got in these adorable compartment sampler boxes into the shop. They screamed “Make me into a cookie kit!” And who are we to tell a sweet little treat box “no”. So that is just what we did! We baked off some of our favorite party perfect sugar cookies, filled mini squeeze bottles with royal icing & packaged everything up.
Even though we made these in mind to be used as a party craft, they would also make great Valentine’s Day gifts or party favors.
