Why You Should Be Hosting Kids Parties At Breakfast Time | The Sweet Lulu Blog

“Is there ever a good time of day to host a children’s party ?” you may be asking yourself. If so, you are not alone. Picking the right time of day to host a party can be tricky stuff.  With so many different variables in place, picking the right time can be one of the hardest aspects of hosting a kids party. However, there might be one time of day that you never considered…….Breakfast time.  It may sound a little weird at first, but once you hear why we are BIG FANS of an early morning party, you might become a believer as well.

5 reasons why you should host a breakfast time party

Your Party Guests Have Already Been Up For Hours: We all know that once you have kids, you no longer need an alarm clock. As soon as those cute little chubby cheeked monsters come into your life, you are bound to be woken up at the crack of dawn. So why not get the party rockin’ in the early morning hours?!

Starting your party in the morning also leaves the rest of the day free for your adult guests to enjoy. Nothing is worse then a party that starts at 1pm because it feels like it eats up your entire day. Well, that, and the part were your kids spend all morning asking  you “Is it time for the party yet?!” no less then 8 billion times!

Want one more reason why you should love a morning kid’s party? You are done before nap time AND you aren’t hosting little people anywhere close to that dreaded “witching hour”!  **cringes at the mere thought**

The Attire Can Be, Shall We Say, Causal: If you are hosting a breakfast party, encourage your guests to show up in the their pajamas. There will be no fights trying to get the kids dressed and out the door.  Hey, anything that makes life easier for parents is always considered a win in our book!

The Food Is Inexpensive, Simple To Prepare & Can Easily Feed A Crowd: Cereal/Bagel/Yogurt Parfait Bar? Donuts? Pancakes? Breakfast offers a ton of different food options that are super easy to prepare, and many don’t even have to be kept warm, making it easy to set everything up before your guests arrive.

Cereal bars are always a big hit with kids. Big jars of colorful cereal and mini jugs of milk can double as party decor — plus, and the whole things is self serve, which leaves you free to tend to guests and mingle.

Another idea is to make donuts, pancakes or rice krispie treats look like a birthday cake by arranging them on a cake stand & adding candles.
