Directions:

Step 1: Creating your twine “clothesline”: First you need to create a twine “clothesline”. Cut a piece of twine the width you want your rainbow backdrop to be & then tie a clear push pin to each end. Take one end, and push the push pin into the ceiling (if you are worried about damage, 3M Command makes some damage free products that might work as substitute). Pull the anchored end tight so there is no slack in the line, and then press the other end into the ceiling. (I am sorry I don’t have a picture of this. With white twine & a white ceiling, it was an impossible shot to get.)

Step 2: Adding The Fringe: You are going to need five pieces of fringe to create a panel of color (in other words, five pieces of red fringe, five pieces of orange….etc.). Three pieces will be the first layer, and the remaining two pieces are going to become the second layer. With that being said, cut each roll of fringe into five pieces. I chose to make my pieces varying lengths.

Before attaching the fringe to the twine clothesline, every piece is going to need double sided tape placed on the back of one end (see below)

Now, this next step is REALLY easy, but for some reason I cannot write the instructions in a way that sounds easy……so it might be easier to skip reading the instructions & just look at the picture below LOL. Leading with the end of the fringe that has the double stick tape on it, thread the fringe (tape side down/fringe side up) over the top of the clothesline so that your fringe is sandwiched between the twine & the ceiling. Thread enough fringe through so that end with the double sided tape can reach the back of the fringe that is hanging. Secure by pressing the two pieces together (see below) Rainbow Fringe Backdrop Tutorial | The Sweet Lulu Blog Like I mentioned earlier, each color panel is made of five pieces of fringe. So, repeat the last step so that your first layer is three pieces wide. Once you have done that, do that same thing with the two remaining pieces, but thread them ON TOP of the first layer of fringe (see below) Rainbow Fringe Backdrop Tutorial | The Sweet Lulu Blog

Now that you know how to create the panels of color, keep adding fringe until it looks like this………

Step 3: Adding the pom pom clouds:
Most pom pom kits come with instructions on how to make them, so I am going to skip that step by saying, follow the instructions that come with your kit.
Once you have your pom poms made, it is time to hang them. I wanted my clouds to have dimension, so I hung the poms poms on the ends first, and then hung the one in the center in front of them (opposed to having them all in the same row). However, feel free to hang them however you think it looks best.

Now that you have your rainbow and clouds, you need your raindrops!

Directions:
Step 1:   Start by making circle punches. I chose to make them in varying sizes. Once you have all your circles punched, cut a piece of twine the length you want your strand of garland to be.

Step 2: Starting at the bottom and working your way up, take one of the circles and cover it in double sided tape. Next, place your piece of twine in the center. Add a couple more pieces of tape over the top of the twine and place another circle (that is the same size) on top so that the twine is sandwiched between two circles. Keep repeating this step until you are almost to the top of your twine, making sure to leave about an inch of twine free.
Step 3: Tie a paper clip to the end of your garland (see below)

Taking the end with the paper clip, thread the paper clip through the wire loop at the bottom of your pom pom (see below)

notes about the pom poms: I used two poms poms from our Martha Stewart Gold & White Pom Pom Kit and one from our ivory kit because that is what I had laying around my house. I just wanted to make note about this in case you are trying to replicate this backdrop down to the last detail.
