Once you’ve mastered our Party Perfect Pie Dough, you can bake up a party perfect pie or anyone of this darling treats without a fuss. And if you really want to make things easy on yourself , you can aways purchase store bought dough — we promise we won’t tell anyone.
Mini Dutch Apple Pies: Mini pie pans can be found online and filled with your favorite pie and packed in mini bakery boxes they would make a darling teacher’s gift. Don’t forget to print and include the recipe.
Bite-Sized Pies: Cut the dough into 2 inch rounds and press into a mini muffin pan. Bake at 425 for 4-6 minutes until golden. Fill the shells with jam, dip, or, as we did here, Nutella and top with whip cream. Tiny heart sprinkles optional.
Pie Pops: Using circular cookie cutter (or a small glass) cut pie dough into rounds. Set half of the round on a parchment paper lined baking pan, brush with egg wash and press a treat stick into the dough. Add about 1 teaspoon of filling – we used canned cranberry sauce but jam also works well. Use a straw to make a vent hole in the top rounds, lay these over the filling, press to seal well and bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden.
Pop Tarts: Cut pie dough into even squares, brush half of these with egg wash and spread 2 tablespoons of filling (again, jam is a no-brainer – keep reading for our pumpkin filling) Top with another square and press the edges together with a fork. Trim the edges slightly. Bake on a parchment lined baking sheet at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
The Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts Filling Recipe:
- 1 cup of pumpkin puree
- ¾ cup brown sugar,
- 1 large egg,
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt.
Directions: Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.
Pie Fries: This a great use for pie scraps – simply cut the pie dough into strips, brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar (or sprinkles) and bake for 4-6 minutes at 350 degrees F. We serve these with an applesauce for dipping as a slightly sweet after school treat.
Pudding Pies: Bake pie crusts and fill with instant chocolate pudding (check the package, most have ‘pie filling’ instructions) top with marshmallows and broil for
1-2 minutes or until mallows are golden. We made these in 3-inch aluminum pans and nestled them into jewelry boxes for a simple favor.
Now go get your bake on!!
